Fight Fear by Uniting in Faith in the Right Thing to Avoid Deception

We fear when we fail to have faith. Children, for instance, need Mommy, Daddy, whoever to chase monsters away, cuddle them during a thunderstorm, or whatever. In a pinch, an older sibling might even step up and assume some parental duties, especially in the case of a parent's death. A child will, in fact, run to that comforter for support - sometimes to a familiar comfort object, too, such as a stuffed animal. They know who will comfort them.

Whoever provides it, a need to be comforted from fear exists in all of us, even as adults. Indeed, comfort is so important Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as the Comforter.

This could be taken down one of a myriad of roads when connected to recent events, such as a temporary executive order with full text linked here (for because of fear there is confusion over what it says, too). That is only part of this post, though.

This follows up on the post on how we imperfect people can't create a perfect world, because only God can change hearts. It can be tempting, as humans, to think we can, but we can only change the outward appearance, actions, etc.. This is where we humans look, while God always looks on - and works in - the heart.(1 Sam 16:7)

Fear and emotion and seeing the evil of some - especially in Germany, Sweden, and France, where I won't link because stories disturb me - in everyone are driving a lot of things.

That leads to two important questions. 1. How do we stop it. And, 2. What does this have to do with deception?

Fight Fear With Faith

The way to battle this fear is to go to that Comforter - obviously, most readers aren't going to talk to a stuffed animal, though it can help one verbalize one's thoughts clearly and is surprisingly effective even for older people. We humans often try to solve our own problems and end up sinking into despair with dangerous things like drinking when we'd be much better off admitting we need help, even if that help is just verbalizing things to a stuffed animal.

That illustrates how important trust is. It's as simple as a child's faith that a comfort object can help them - and, it does to the extent that they are verbalizing things and thinking things out, just doing so out loud. It just needs to be in the right thing.But, if that faith children use helps them talk things out, or snuggling with one helps keep nightmares away, how much more can the true Comforter - which is the Holy Spirit/Holy Ghost - help?

I doubt anyone voted for a stuffed animal, though given the choices I'm sure some were tempted. :-) People make choices based on that need to be comforted, showing a general desire to put faith in an outward appearance, rather than in the heart. Franklin Roosevelt, for instance, famously told Americans in his first inaugural address that, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." His words on the surface were comforting, but March 5, 1933 was just as bad as March 4 (the day of inaugurations then); it took a long while for thigns to improve. to avoid arguments over how much he helped, let's say he was like that parent who soothes a crying child who just skinned their knee. What helps at the moment - more than medicine they apply - is that someone is there soothing them.

God provides that Comforter that we need, more so than any person can. FDR or any other person is less powerful than god. Even if people could create a perfect world, only God can change hearts.

Because, you see, God has provided all we need to have faith to make that heart change - including that Comforter which is God living in each of us when we trust Jesus Christ by faith to save us. Once you trust Jesus Christ by faith to save you from your sins, you are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.(Eph.1:13-14) Jesus promised the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost/Spirit, will provide you with the peace you need.

This is very easy, because it's "by grace ye are saved through faith, and that not of yoruselves, it is the gift of God; not of works lest any man shoudl boast."(Eph. 2:8-9) We can't get to heaven and have our sins washed away by our own works, it's only through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. And, that's as easy as ABC - Admit you're a sinner and you fall short of God's perfection, and thus can't get to heaven on your own; Believe Jesus Christ, god in flesh, died to take the punishment for your sins and rose from the ded; and, Call on Him by faith to forgive and save you and make you new inside. You can talk to God right now and do that.

Once you have trusted Him by faith, you can pray for others, too - especially for our leaders to also be guided int he right way, as the Bible tells us always to pray for those in authority so we can lead peaceful lives, etc.. This is why I've talked so much in this blog about prayer being so important for revival; there are plenty of other pages you can look at, but just know it's important for it to be prayers of repentance, accepting that we have messed up royally trying to solve thigns ourselves and each of us has sinned and come short of the glory of God.

instead of trusting in God, people fight fear with emotions. Emotions lead to people filled with strife because of spiritual warfare, which we'll touch on soon. Look at the destruction which has marked some riots, which are never the answer. contrast the trash left by those at the Million Woman March versus the peacefulness and cleanliness of the march for Life, and you can see the emotion thrown around there, just like in the immigration debate. For instance, government action comes from a combination of fear and only looking at the outside, but some protests do, too, in a way, because major problems are only addressed when it suits them; for instance, dozens of people were shipped back to Cuba days before Trump took office with no complaints, and that doesn't even consider the many Christians beheaded with no hope of entering the U.S. years earlier. There is lots of fear on all sides. Add to this the fact that most of what was done was just a move back to standards of 6-7 years ago that were just done without warning or planning (on emotion), and you get a lot of confusion that comes because there is no comforting being done.

Why? There is no comfort because there is no faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of thigns not seen.(Heb.11:1) Just as someone saying "no monsters in the closet" keeps nightmares away, or being with whomever makes the thunderstorm seem less scary, or whatever, people need to know that they don't have to be afraid. They need faith.

Be Filled With the Spirit - and Truth - For Comfort

Think of what having that faith means. Obviously, a saved person still has that old flesh nature so they will react and not listen to th4 Holy Spirit if they are not careful; the Bible  says peace is one of the fruits of the Spirit(Gal.5:22-23, and to be filled with the Spirit, a verb which means controlled by it.(Eph. 5:16-18) God promises the peace that passes understanding to those who trust Him.(Phi.4:7) And, so on.

You have to have faith in the right thing, though, and that means knowing the truth.  Just like that child learns how far away the lightening is by counting, and gets more used to thunder, they generally aren't as scared, though some adults are terrified of storms and that's fine. However, the point is that we learn facts - truth - to make us less scared. That absolute truth of God's word is so helpful here, as He promises that He won't change,  and therefore His people are not consumed. (Mal. 3:6)

Some truths are very important to know because we can be hurt if we do not know them. For instance, it is good to know if lightning is over a mile away because of the distance between it and the thunderclap. It is wrong to think that lightning can never hurt you because if you stand outside during a storm you could get hit by it and injured or killed. There is a rational and an irrational caution to take around lightning. (Tht healthy respect and caution one has around lightning is the good kind of fear the Bible talks about - God doesn't want us to have the irrational terror kind.) In the same way,  it is irrational to claim all Muslims are moderate since there have been terrorist ttacks by radical ones; and in fact it could be argued that hiding the fact an attacker was a radical Muslim scares people more because they don't know if they'll be told the truth.

Muslims and Christians have very different beliefs, and another falsehood that appears is that they worship the same god. Muslims don't believe Jesus is God in flesh like Christians do, because they misunderstand "Sonship" and think it means physical relations when it doesn't. Sonship is figurative, like the Arabic "ibn," and like the Arabic phrase "The word is the daughter of the lips." Here are some great links to explain more, but suffice it to say that their view of god is totally lacking int he grace and mercy the Bible shows, because the Bible shows God loving all sinners, and tenderly calling them to repent before it is too late. He is personal and wants to reconcile us to Himself. These are not true of the Muslim Allah. This doesn't get into the dangers of radical Muslims views on women.

There is a lot of spiritual warfare going on. A lot of the devil's work is in clouding the truth. Revival won't work without repentant hearts praying. However, as noted many times before, God can change hearts and heal a nation that turns to Him.The devil is going to try to deceive people through their emotions, as well as many other things, though.

Some of that will be through fear. A world leader will come to the fore sometime who will promise peace but who will actually bring destruction; and, that world leader will not like the God of the Bible becasue he will want to have people develop their own system and achieve peace through worldly means, not through trusting God to provide. It is why we must avoid being fooled.

Wait, you ask, how did we get here?

Remember at the  start I mentioned that people are looking for comfort from fear, the fear that is gripping people on all sides? This spiritual warfare happens because the devil, God's enemy - a created being who chose to rebel and try to be like God - wants to draw people away from the truth of God's Word and cause that kind of terror that causes people to panic and put their trust in the wrong kind of thing, in human leaders and laws rather than God's grace.

Avoid Deception - Don't Chase the Wrong Thing In Troubled Times

This makes a lot of sense when connected to that idea of needing to fight fear with faith - as long as it's the right thing. The more chaos the devil can cause, the less we think of how God can comfort us, and the easier we can then be deceived. It's easier to feel safe when things are going well because, well, things are going well, and there is nothign to be scared of. A child playing outside on a calm, summer day wont' be scared of lightning, it's when the thunderstorm comes they need that comfort.

Of course, trauma can lead to one needing a lot more comfort, too - but this is why it's wonderful that God is called the God of all comfort in the Bible.(2 Cor. 1:3) Even minor problems can make one more wary. For a while after escaping a house fire with her parents, a cousin's girl noticed loud noises more becasue they made her think of the sound of the fire engines and crackling of the fire. She perked her ears up more than she did running to them each time, though; had she been injured she would have been more scared. This is why that spiritual warfare happens, so the devil can stir people up and cause them to want to turn to the wrong thigns - the wrong people, the wrong faith, and so on.

Of coruse, God allows it becasue he knows many people can find Him *if* they seek Him - which is why we must not be hating people but rather sharing the love of Christ with them and inviting them to trust that God of love to save them. Sometimes people turn to bad thigns like drugs and drinking and other thigns in times of turmoil instead, though, because they fear there is no hope That's why it's vital to show them there is hope - and that hope is found in Jesus Christ of the Bible, the one who made a way for them to know God personally, for god to live in them through the Holy Spirit.

See, when we fail to look at others as humans, sinners like us in need of the SAviour, we are falling into that age-old trap. We forget that, as one example, many Muslims are afraid of radical Islam, too. That's where, for instance - like the person who has been traumatized - it's important to know the differences and be able to say, "Okay, "Sharia law is awful on women, freedoms, and human rights, and we need to take steps to stop it because it will benefit all of us." this is where honest discussion and not hiding the facts of what radicals have done and are doing is vital, becasue as noted, hiding facts can make one scared of the whole thing.

In the lightning example above, for instance, if you only knew people got killed by lightning and didn't know the lightning was over a mile away and couldn't come into the house, for instance, you'd be more scared.

Avoid Deception by Receiving God's Peace

This looking at the outside and following our fears, rather than putting our trust in Christ, leads to how we can and will be deceived if we're not careful. I want to further discuss what kind of deception might be coming, but current events mean that it's best saved for another day, though in the meantime you can read this and this with good links elsewhere.

It's not just looking at the spiritual realm for concerns, though. We have problems right here that need us to pray to God to intervene and to prevail in this spiritual warfare.

In other words, be careful and don't put trust in world leaders the way you trust in god. that goes for people of all political persuasions. This world is filled with people who are full of emotion and angst, and that means that we don't even know wht's accurate anymore because unless you've been an eyewitness to something, and can then relate it in a calm manner, there is going to be some bias.

WE can trust the Bible, though. It's entirely reliable as God's Word. God loves to communicte with us, and because of that, He is able to comfort us when we call on Him.

It's important to work together to end evil, but more importantly, while we can't bring in God's Kingdom ourselves, someone will try to create a kingdom without allowing Bible believers to proclaim that truth that Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the world, to anyone who receives Him, but that one must trust Him by faith to save them from their sins.

that is because a price had to be paid for my sins, for yours, for everyone's. God Himself paid that pricewhen he chose to die for each and every person on thsi planet. then, the third day, he rose bodily from the dead.

In John 16:33, he says, "My peace i give unto you" - another difference because others want to only give peace to a certain person or people, but the bible shows that Jesus, God in flesh(John 1:1, 14), gives His peace to you and I and everyone who will receive it.

He then goes on. "Not as the world gives; My peace i give unto you. In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

Jesus has already overcome the world. Whatever spiritual battles await you, if you have trusted Jesus Christ to save you then you can know for sure you have Him living in you. You can go to Godlife.com for more, including people who you can talk to to learn more about following the Lord.

Then, you can be free from fear and able to pray for others to also be free from that fear. When we all get together and pray for God to free us from that fear, he will protect us fromt he deception which will come upon this world and try to trick thsoe who remain with epace and safety, when instead sudden destruction will come upon them.(1 thess. 5:1-3)

God will bring perfect world & promises how; avoid promises of it being different

Posts here - and the inner-city ministry blog a similar post to this will be in - discuss, in one way or another, ways God can use us to bring people to Him, especially through Repentance Revival and, as part of that, our prayers.

God cares a great deal that people come to Him. His Gospel is for everyone - anyone can call on Him at any time and trust Him by faith to forgive them of their sins and make them new inside, as I'll relate more in the final section; you can do that right now if you haven't. He unconditionally loves each of us - you - and calls us to go into all the world and preach that Gospel to everyone.(Matt.28:18-20)

When a person trusts Jesus Christ as Saviour with their whole heart, He makes them new creatures inside. (2 Corinthians 5:17) This is why I emphasize the need for repentance in revival; it's not just repentance being required for prayer. That heart change is vital to ending violence against women, working together as equals who accept we're all one race, etc.. It is good for Christians to glorify God by being Godly examples and seeking to bring these lost souls to Christ so they can change on the inside and not just on the outside, which is how the world tries to do it. God looks on the heart, which is what is important..

It is important to remember that the salvation of souls must be the main thing, though. Too often, imperfect people try on their own strength to accomplish goals, which leads to deception. Two particular deceptions involve losing our focus; hence the need to focus on things like the good thoughts of Philippians 4:8. We must avoid them and also help others avoid them. If we don't, we can be led astray with terrible consequences - especially with the second.

One is a doctrine that has been espoused by many, such as the Pilgrims and Puritans. This isn't saying they lacked a relationship with God. I simply mention them as an example to show how easy it is for saved people to fall  for it.

We Can't Bring the Kingdom Ourselves

Luke 17:20-21 shows Jesus answering a question about when the Kingdom of God would come. His words lead to talk of false Christs, but notice it is the Kingdom of God which He says won't come with observation; you can't point and say "There it is." It's within each believer because believers have the Holy Spirit. His kingdom is not of this world; indeed, we are called ambassadors(2 Cor. 5:20) precisely because we who trust Christ as Saviour are citizens of Heaven. So, this verse has nothing to do with making the world perfect ourselves, because we can't - we can only let God use us to make things better in His perfect plan, by leading people to Christ like int he above links.

The problem was, the Puritans, etc. saw a great, pristine wilderness inhabited by some natives (who only certain ones even though to share the Gospel with, a sign of their sinfulness), and a total lack of the persecution of Europe. These things made them tink it was - if not Heaven on Earth - a place they could turn into it. They looked at their situation, saw people could only be blessed by hard work in building and growing their colonies, and used those  circumstances to create something akin to the error of the prosperity gospel today. They simply forgot that the Bible never teaches us to focus on worldly goods. Instead, we are to build our treasure in heaven where it is going to last forever.(Matthew 6:19-21, etc.) So, the old "Protestant work ethic" is good in how it inspires hard work and determination for the Lord, but bad if it's used to belittle those who can't work as much or who work but their rewards are built in heaven.

As noted, it's easy to fall for the error of looking only at circumstances and still be saved; Even John the Baptist did when depressed in prison. Jesus told his messengers to show him all the Miracles that were done and that would remind him that yes, Jesus is the Christ, the "Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world."(John 1:29) As the previous link states, people who believe this false teaching think they are using God when in fact the Bible says God uses us in His perfect plan. The circumstances they got wrong were thinking that they were using their faith to settle this country when in fact God was using them and trying to get them to be Godly people and thus show the natives an example of Jesus Christ. They just refused to listen to Him. Some did because they weren't saved and so didn't have the Holy Spirit. Others did because of that inherent sin nature that caused them to insist on their ways. this is just one reason why I always say in these posts that we need to repent for the last 400 years, not just the last 40.

This brings us to one of the reasons we can't bring the Kingdom of God in ourselves. There are severa, and I'll only get into a few here.

1. We haven't improved since then. We can't bring the Kingdom of God in on our own because we still have a sin nature, and imperfect people can't create something perfect, just like someone who has only read anayomy books or watched TV can't do brain surgery and hope to do it well. People still seek their own way; as noted in other posts, many want to be superior to others instead of equal. Some truly want equally, but as will be shown, when God is left out of the picture it only leads to a lack of true freedom. Godly justice, which is better than any person's. This is because...

2. God alone can change hearts. It truly is a heart problem that can't be fixed completely by laws. Believers have the Holy Spirit in them so God can use us to bring people to Him. He is the one who saves, though. We only do our part by sharing our Testimony, giving a Gospel tract, writing, singing, giving of ourselves through teaching, food, or whatever, or anything else that's God calls us to do. As 1st Corinthians says, sometimes Paul plants and Apollos waters, sometimes it's the other way around, but God is the only one who can truly give the increase.

3. Some parts of the Millennial Kingdom can't possibly come without God's intervention. For instance, there being no war and animals being peaceful, and you can't tame wild animals. Also, one verse tells of how many people will want to follow the Jews up to Jerusalem because they know that God is with them.(Zechariah 8:13) Today, anti-Semitism is rampant, and it won't stop till the devil is vanquished by God Himself. Jesus will rule and reign in the Kingdom on His throne in Jerusalem, and will return with a whole mess of staints, the number used being the highest possible in Greek.(Jude 14-15) All the events of Revelation have to happen first, too. There are others, too.

Of course, for centuries Christians have fought injustice, built hospitals and orphanages, fed the hungry, and so on; all of these are great causes. The question is, does the saving of souls come first? Is the good work done to glorify God and draw others to know Christ as Saviour? If so, that is what God wants.

There are people who do such things with other motives, though. They might do it to make people look at them, though the applause of people shouldn't be our goal - these good works must be done heartily unto the Lord. This is why at the bema seat judgment, where our works are judged, some will be burned up because they were built on the wrong desires, though once a person is saved that soul is saved forever.(1 Cor. 3:11-15)

Even worse, some people do such works and totally dishonor God, trying to create a society apart from God and His principles and perfection. Such things are very dangerous, and lead into the worst deception.

The Coming Great Deception

The problem is that so many refuse to accept God's forgiveness because they delight in sins of some sort. In sharing how to avoid being fooled by the devil, and what to do if millions vanish, those links shared a few ksys, but it needs to consistently be emphasized that Godly principles include things we all should love.

Think about it - honesty, respect for others, mercy, grace, kindness, etc. are all Godly principles we should want to build in our lives; people just don't like them when they have to apply them in situations where they don't want to, a result of that sin nature. The devil has tried to make people only focus on what God is against, but instead we must keep emphasizing the things Christians should all be for, such as forgiveness, mercy, and His loving, willing sacrifice on the cross, the death and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ - who was God in flesh - for our sins.

2 Thessalonians 2 is one of several places we read about the devil's attempt to defeat God through the antichrist, and it has some very sobering words for those who love the lies the devil puts out instead of God's unconditional love for each of us. Strong delusion will come to them and they will believe the lie this evil being puts forth.

We don't know what that lie will be; there may be quite a few of them. One link mentioned in both those links int he first paragraph in this section menions demons pretending to be aliens, for instance. It could also be something else.

However, the key is that the devil will try to make this world seem perfect for sinful people left behind. Why? Becasue he is a counterfeiter, and wants to create a counterfeit system that will bind people to Him and enslave them. We don't follow God becasue we have to; we do it becsue we want to based on what He did for us. However, the devil wants to enslave people with things. Some of them, people can see are really dangers, yet they still get lured into them. Others are much more benign looking.

One of those lies is that people can create a perfect world without God.

This connects with that first point. We can't make this world perfect; we can't bring the Kingdom of God ourselves becasue we are imperfect humans. It is very dangerous to fall for any system that tries to cause people to think they can create that perfect world themselves. Indeed, often ministers refuse to preach about the end times becasue they don't want to think of jesus comings oon because they want to believe that we can build a perfect world for Him. Yes, some ministers are simply unaware of anything and just need to study to show themselves approved, getting out of their comfort zones. Others, however, truly want to think that people can make their own utopia.

Of course, it's great to work for change. We must end oppression, end racism, and prevent evil as best we can; we are never told to sit by and watch things such things happen.

The difference between what God wants us to do and what the devil tries to do is all about context. When doctors, nurses, etc. get together for a medical mission and the Gospel is presented once people receive the help they need, that is honoring Christ, for instance. When the poor are helped by a group that preaches Christ crucified, risen, and coming again for one's sins and the poor have the Gospel presented to them, that is beinging more souls into the Kingdom. However, when things are not done with Christ at the center, when a ministry does something but neglects the Gospel, then  they are not doing their job. (The dangerous "social gospel", which as the link shows is not Biblical since it doesn't focus on Heaven)

The antichrist at first will be a man of peace, bringing everything together and everyone together. This will please a lot of people, but it will only be for a short while. The true colors of this society will be shown - as shown in Revelation - by thigns such as its hatred of those who preach the God of the Bible and the necessity of salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. It will further be shown by the forcing of a mark in (or on, or both) the hand or forehead, where nobody can buy or sell without it. It might be voluntary at first, but either way, it will cause one to pledge allegiance to this devil incarnate.

All that is why I say elsewhere, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER take that mark!

 The great deception could be someone claiming to be Jesus. It could be an alien, perhaps the return of the Nephilim coming with it as pointed out here.(There is weird, unBiblical stuff out there about these creatures, but Chuck Missler and anyone he links are good, as he is a well-respected scholar ont he subject; this is why I ilnk his page.)

We don't know what that delusion will be, so it's important to avoid it and be ready now by trusting Jesus Christ, not by preparing like some of those aforementioned weird sites talk about.

There is one way to avoid this delusion.

That is to know the truth. Jesus saith, I am the way, the truth, and the life, Noone can come to the Father but by Him. (John 14:6) This Gospel is inclusive of everyone. Children under the age of accountability go to Heaven by the cross because they can't yet understand the need for Jesus Christ to die in their place. In the same way, each of us must go not based on any work of our own. It must be based on one's trust in Christ Jesus alone, calling on him by faith and believing that He took the punishment for one's sins, and then repenting and trusting Him to save them and make them new inside.

That is all that is needed. Then, you can be part of the Kingdom of God by simple faith, the moment you call on Him to save you by simple faith. Most importantly, you can sahre the Gospel with others and help them avoid the judgment coming on this world for the evil in it. We can't save this world from sinners. But, we can let God use us to save sinners from a lost and dying world..

Don't be a Pharisee - 'cause they're no fair you see

School starts soon, and with that, the chance for young people to be part of changing their culture. However, of course, this past has tips for anyone who is trying to let God use them to bring revival - or even who is just trying to figure this world out. :-) (This will also soon appear on the blog of the ministry I volunteer with, too, focusing more on Youth Leader Training Institute.)

School brings fond memories to some. However, it's very stressful for today's youth. I noted in this post that young people can certainly change the world by trusting the Lord to guide and help them do it. This will focus more on another problem related to one of the stresses mentioned: Pharisees.It is a problem which hampers society in a few ways, and which we who follow the Lord need to avoid.

The Pharisee problem must be seen with the background of Jesus' teaching, of course. He taught that they weren't perfect because of what was wrong with their hearts. They were too quick to criticize when, for instance, Jesus healed people on the Sabbath. Anyone was allowed to do what was necessary on the Sabbath. They just wanted to appear righteous by not working, and that meant they didn't even want God to work. (I suspect, for instance, that someone like Josephus, a great historian of his time, would have noticed and mentioned it if no babies were ever born on the Sabbath. But, they were.) The Pharisees' system went against God's absolute right and wrong which has existed since the foundation of the world.

It's great to know the Lord so He can help you through the rough times and to help you celebrate in the good and bad times. We all need this whatever our environment. That's wonderful and important. It should cause us to want to help others out of compassion and kindness and all those good things, too. This is so we can not only help them trust the Lord to save them and make the world better, but also so we can please God. However, we shouldn't please God because we have to; He doesn't force us. We should please Him because we want to, because of what He has done for us.

Pharisees wanted to please people and not God. It can be a daily struggle for some, because it is tempting to be just like the world in how people talk, treat others, etc.. The Bible, on the other hand, says "Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind..."(Rom. 12:2) In other words, let God help you (transforming from the inside out) be kinder, more loving, more compassionate, and so on.

. This can be easy for some, too; some people are naturally more able to reach out to those who need a friend, ignore cliques, and so on. Either way, there are two problems that need to be watched out for so we can follow the Lord and make a difference in our schools, homes, communities, etc..

The first problem is that the need for compassion has not stopped people today from being pharisaic. Second, it may seem odd to say that pleasing people can be done selfishly, but true compassion means not always doing what the world says(like when the world says to lie or cheat). True compassion sometiems means standing for what's right and understanding consequences, too.

Learning to show compassion

Learning to show and have compassion - not just pretend to - is one of the keys to bringing change through repentance revival to this country. We can't just talk about it or go through the motions. Constant testing, which ignores individual learning styles and special needs, as noted in the first post I linked, is just one of the ways modern Pharisees act. Hence, the problems of the Pharisees will help young people understand the modern world.

There has always been tendency to focus on the outside because of human nature. For instance, people feel attraction based on looks and not on the person inside. That, of course, goes against what the Bible says. There are four different types of love in Greek, and they become much deeper and more important as they consider more of the inside and what one can give and become more lasting. Only looking at the outside is focusing on what one can get, like when one says "I love pizza." We don't want to dedicate our lives to helping pizza, we want to eat it and it tastes good to us. This is why modern-day Pharisees aren't thinking of trying to help people as much as they are glorifying themselves. (And, in many things, teachers are caught in the middle, so please have compassion on them and don't be upset at them for how the system is. They are often struggling with it themselves, when "teacher evalutation" should be based on patience, kindness, understanding, and things like that - things on the inside.)

In other areas, too, you can probably see how too much focus on one's self causes so much trouble when we should be thinking of others. Everyone is special to someone, as this discusses. Often, when we focus on others we end up worrying less about our own problems.

The Pharisees only thought of being in the right clique and others doing everything the way they wanted. When they cared about others, it was only so they could have everyone look at them. This isn't just a school problem - although what clique you were in in school won't matter one bit once you leave - it is a problem with society, too. Man looketh on the outward appearance, but like God looketh upon the heart.(1 Samuel 16:7.)

So, as shown in a number of places, one key to revival is looking on the heart. Jesus criticized the Pharisees even though they claimed to be doing God's will - prayer for instance won't work if there's something between that person and God. However, thankfully, reconciliation is just a single, sincere prayer away. Anyway, Jesus reproved them that they should have been focused on doing what God wanted and caring for others for those other peoples' sake. Our society needs changed by people turning to the Lord.

It's up to us to be examples of Jesus, letting our lights sine, so people will believe when we tell them how God changes us on the inside and works in us.

Receive God's compassion and forgiveness

Jesus loves you no matter who you are, and no matter what you have done. He showed Godly compassion because He was God in flesh. He died to take the punishment for our sins and rose from the dead. Thankfully, each of us only needs to call on Him by faith to be saved from our sin.

God did this because God is personal. He wants a relationship with each of us, to give us peace that passes understanding, perfect wisdom, and so much more. He'll help you be more loving and caring and compassionate. He wants to help you through all the problems of life and help you to make this world better, so that others can see Christ's love as well.

That's because there is a penalty for sin. That penalty is separation from God forever in a horrible place that He does not want you to go. He created it only for the devil and his angels(Matt. 25:41), but people choose to go there when they fully reject His love and forgiveness. We all need changed on the inside. That is what happens when you call on Jesus by faith to be saved from your sin and made new inside. You need to invite him into your heart to make you new. Then, He comes to live in you through the Holy Spirit. You can call on Him to forgive you and save you from your sin and make you new right here reading this, in fact;a person doesn't have to be in church.

Showing Godly compassion, not the false kind

This, then, brings us to that second problem I mentioned. You may have thought I forgot about it, but I did want to bring up the false compassion that some show. It is false compassion for the same reason that not warning someone of a hot stove is false compassion. We can pretend that stove is not hot, and there is no problem. However, that does not stop the stove from being hot. It does not prevent us from getting burned if we touch it.

In the same way, there is a false compassion which is part of the world's system.

God's system, as shown here, is far better than the world's system. The world's system doesn't see each persont he way God does, because God sees each individual as important. However, God's system is also different because it says that it's important to say that sin is sin.

We should love sinners but we have to accept that there are things that God says our sin such as lying, cheating, bullying, and so on. Indeed, some of these Pharisees of today are more like the first part when it comes to bullying, too; they talk about it but they don't really stop the bullies.  (Of course, in many ways, they can't, becasue it's a heart problem. And, at other times, being kind to them and teaching them how to be nice is needed because the bully has never known how. We should help others overcome such difficult lives, and that starts by helping them see they are special to God and to others.)

We love sinners by kindly warning them that sin has consequences. After all, people need to be saved from their sin and that means they need to realize they need a savior. And, that Saviour died to save them, and rose again. Trusting Him to save us, calling on Him to forgive us, is all that is needed. We can't get to Heaven by our own works, only by what Jesus did for us.

Indeed, the fact that we can't work our way to Heaven is a wonderful thing that unites us all. God does not want us to boast of how we got there. From the person who did the most throughout their lives to the person who thought he was good enough and then got saved right at the end, to the child who was too young to understand and so never was able to trust in Jesus but who got there because of the cross, and many others, all are equal. All get to Heaven only because of what Jesus did, and then trusting in what Jesus did by calling on him by faith to save them.

We go around telling people that we are sinners too, not just that they are, but we serve a greater Saviour. Our Testimony should include how God has redeemed us and is working in us.

In so doing, we learn things like how Muslims believe sonship is about physical relations when it is not, and that therefore they have a misconception which we can politely help clear up, because of course it is good to help people have more understanding. Sonship is the Arabic IBN, which means a perfect likeness, as this explains in part, because Jesus was God in flesh. He was not born of Joseph and Mary,  He was born of the Holy Spirit.

It is things like this that help to show true compassion. We need to realize that since other people matter, we need to be willing to say that sin has consequences and then turn away from that sin so that other people aren't hurt by those sins. A person who thinks adultery has no consequences, or should have no consequences, is having no concern for any person who they are hurting. And, sometimes we must be the ones to say that sin is wrong and either do things to prevent such sin (such as protecting people from those who would lie about certain things to fulfill their own lusts) or enforce consequences at times.

After all, in God's perfect Heaven there can be no sin, because there is no pain, no suffering, no tears, no heartache, nothing bad can happen. So, He must keep sin out of Heaven.

Thankfully, He has made a way for us to get to Heaven. We warn people of the consequences so they can get there too, but also to make this world a better place.

Actions Must Speak Louder

However, we must act, too, not just talk. Living the correct way doesn't help if we aren't also helping others by being nice, thoughtful, etc.. If we are to have Revival and change this country, we must stop being like the Pharisees. We must realize that the inside is what matters. We must also, however, stand for what is right. As I have noted before, we must repent for not standing against certain evils sooner, and start to take positive stands agaisnt such thigns as domestic violence, which is clearly against God's Word, praying that the Lord will change hearts and stop it.

We must also be known for what we are for, not just what we are against, and that means the love and forgiveness and sound doctrine that the Bible shows. After all, many places, like this, show that the Bibleis truly reliable and trustworthy; we can trust that it is the Word of God. If there are problems it is becasue the wrong Greek is used - stick witht he King James from the Antiochan Greek, as other English ones are from the Alexandrian.

It starts with each of us. We should all endeavor, whether in school or wherever we are, to care about others the way God does. We should love others no matter what and help those who need help. We should be friends to those who seem to lack friends or have trouble making them. We should make sure that things that people call Biblical really are, and that they aren't just being Pharisees.

However, we should also recognize the absolute truth which God established and which should guide all of us. That truth of being honest, kind, gentle, and so many more things. Use the fruits of the Spirit from Galatians 5:22-23 and seek God's help to build them up more in you. Focus on those good thoughts of Philippians 4 8. Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32. And many other things.

Of course, we need God's help to do this. We need Him to save us if we are not and then to change us on the inside. That means a continual transformation, continual action from the outside by God who loves us and wants the best for us, to help us get rid of those things that so easily beset us.(Heb. 12:1) We struggle with our sin nature. Even those who behave very well all the time can struggle with pride and such. But by trusting God to work in us, and praying for Him to do so and to work in others, we can see Him move in our lives and in our nation.

Youth and others, fix your stress with God's unconditional love

This post is for everyone but especially for young people. I will mention a few specific stresses youth face. It'll help as we pray for repentance and revival in America or wherever. I'm also going to mostly copy it and put it on my local ministry blog, so if you see this again you'll know why.

First, let me say you are "Fearfully and wonderfully made," according to God's Word.(Ps.139:14) Before you were even in the womb, God knew you and had a special plan for your life. I have a number of physical handicaps and maybe a bit of a developmental one, but that hasn't stopped me from being part of God's great plan. You can be, too, if you have a relationship with Him - you'll see how at the end of this post - the "To Know God" section talks about it.

This post was 3/4 done and would have been a lot longer but a glitch erased it all after I pressed some button wrong. However, you can check previous posts here for various topics that were mentioned. And, perhaps the fact I started over - with a few short e-mails I'd sent myself that formed part of this present one - quickly after that will help you, too. because, the devil wants to destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and life more abundantly.(John 10:10) (Yep, that's one of the first verses I thought about when maybe 5,000 words got erased. I realized it was a setback but God would have the ultimate victory.)

This was inspired by comments about a problem known as Common Core which stresses many students in public schools. Private schools and home schoolers  have some different stresses, but all youth share some. So, no matter who you are, you will benefit from this now or later and certainly be able to help others dealing with worry, family problems, relationship issues, or whatever.

Some are even stressed out by not having any spiritual leader to help them draw closer to Jesus; this free blogged book will help anyone, even you, lean how to be that leader.

"You mean there is one cause for all these problems," you ask?  "From schoolwork to bullies to broken families and everything?"

Yes. And, you can be part of the solution, too. Which means 'walking the walk and not jsut talking the talk." (I add some stuff on why we shouldn't pay attention to hypocrites that got deleted in with the ways to cope with struggles.)

See, people are not perfect. Imperfect people can't make something perfect, because we don't know how. That's why there is so much hurt in the world. That's why a person can't solve all the problems. It would be like asking a person from 1,000 years ago to work on a computer. and, I know people in their seventies who see modern technology as totally alien to them. that's why people try their own solutions like Common Core; they don't trust God to see everyone as unique and don't seek His perfect wisdom.

(For those who doubt God, it's okay, He promises to reward those who diligently seek Him, and understood when His own disciples doubted at times. Here is a good, though complex, series of 3 pages on why the Bible can be trusted. Here is just the start of a bunch of scientific facts known by scientists only many centuries after God mentioned them in the Bible. This is also interesting. But, the most important aprt is to understand why there is evil and that we need saved from it.)

God is personal and loving. He wants to help, guide, comfort, and so much else for you. He made you special, as I said, with unique gifts, talents, etc.. You might have been told differently, but remember that we are not perfect, so we don't know everything. The key is to understand who God is. He created the beautiful, awesome, wonderful creation that is all around you. In fact, He made you. He made you special, more wonderful than you can imagine. Because, He loves you. He loves all of us more than we can imagine.

He loves us unconditionally. Even though we hurt Him so much because of our sin.

The solution must start with the absolute right and wrong which has existed from the foundation of the world.

This world was made perfect, with no sin, but people were given free choice so we wouldn't be mindless robots. He can't stop every little act because cause and effect itself would be gone, though through prayer He can protect us.

Sins are things we do which are selfish, mean, lying, anything we say, think or do that displeases God. But, more on that in the part on knowing God. For now, just know that God still desires a relationship with you despite that, and all you need is to turn from those sins and trust Him to make you new inside, and he will.

So, how will God help me?

The Lord wants to help you grow in love for others, patience, gentleness, self-control, etc - in other words, the fruits of the Spirit - as well as things like kindness, whatever talents you have, etc.. This means learning to rely on Him. It can be easier at a younger age because you know that you need help. Just like I do with my handicaps.

There are many promises you can claim as you read God's Word. Here are some. God promises to be our comfort, guide, friend, etc. Another thing He promises is to be our strength. 2nd Timothy 2: 1 is an example of where God tells us to be strong in the Lord and that verb in the original Greek means to continually be strengthened. In other words, let God give you that supernatural strength through the Holy Spirit, like when i just restarted this without worry.(Yes, thinking, too, of how it could inspire others.) Also, use verses like Romans 12: to wear it says to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. In other words, allow God to continually make you new as you grow in Him.

As you can see, communication is essential in this relationship just as in any relationship. We speak with God through our prayers. He can speak with us in a number of ways. But anything we take in must be tested against the absolute truth of the Bible.

(Why do we pray if God knows our needs? Picture a 2YO trying to dress himself. The parents know he needs help but he keeps refusing - and gets it so messed up you'd think his socks would end up on his years. That's how we are when we go against God.)

Here are some keys - each almost its own little blog post.

1. Pray God's promises. This is pretty simple, trust God for the right answer, His perfect timing, etc.. Seek His wisdom. Don't be afraid to ask "why" with the purpose of understanding what God is trying to show you. Remember that He knows everything and so His best answer is sometimes "yes," sometimes "no," and sometimes "wait." For instance, despite my handicaps, i always wanted to adopt. I've never had the money, but God moved through the Spirit in me to pray and trust Him for it. I soon found myself praying to dedicate the child like Hannah did her son in 1 Samuel. More about that here if interested. Anyway, His answer was "no" on earth, but "yes in a way, because I believe He has a child for me in Heaven. Since then He has given me peace, i no longer feel like i need to keep dreaming of it, He has given me His answer.

     As part of this, hide God's Word in your heart. so you know those promises. This is pretty simple. Psalm 119:11 says thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee. When you have God's Word in your heart, it will come to you when you needed. Of course, some people have things like hymn lyrics come to their minds, or something else. However God made you is how He will work with you.

2. Be positive - "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me."(Phil.4:13) God can get you through it. Whether it's a test - and I know Common Core drives lots of kids crazy - or pimples or whatever, remember nothing in this world is forever. Think of the good things in your life. Even if all you can think of is your salvation or your relationship with God, it is something major.(And if you don't have that, you can just by calling on Him, as noted below.) Trust God, He inhabits the praise of His people. As you praise Him for His mighty works and the things He has done for you, your attitude will improve and .

     And, he will not only bring to your mind Bible verses or humn lyrics or something like I mentioned, He will bring other things to mind. Pimples, for instance, might bring to mind the joke on "Full Hosue" once about playing connect the dots with your face and those of others. The Bible says "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine." Of course, there are times something becomes chemically wrong, though without that sadness can be kept from going into depression by focusing on those positive things. Which leads into the next point.

3. Be willing to learn and seek help from those who bring you closer to God. Sometimes, even our families have struggles because the parents aren't living for God. But, God will direct you to friends who will be that spiritual help you need. They will give the hugs you need and everything else.

      Some people turn to gangs becasue tehy don't have the positive role model they need. gangs have become a way for some in the inner city to interact, but they need to turn to God instead, because God promises to be that strength, courage, etc. they need without the terrible violence that can come from gangs. God teaches us to respect all human life. This is part of why I mentioend that free blogged boo, too.

     In other words, you will feel more self-respect being with those who bring you closer to God. So, even professionals that you seek should be those who believe in God or at least won't put down your faith.

4. Love others. Even Jesus Himself was always serving others. If a friend has decided they would rather not be friends, show love to that person and simply stop being friends and pray for them. If you have done a good job being a friend, they will remember how good you were and may return. Find out how you can help others. With that quote about the man with no feet, just making someone like that feel good and appreciated is important even if you can't do anything for them.

     As discussed in a previous post, after all, other people matter. Say some Common Core standard is bugging you. When you focus on others, instead of worrying about how well you do versus someone else, consider the good things(be positive) and focus on how to build others up. then, you can feel better about yourself, too. A friend wished his family was closer knit and so I suggested he spend Christmas working at a soup kitchen. I don't know if he did but it's a great idea; when you can't be with the ones you want, help the less fortunate.

5. Don't compare yourself to others. There is an old saying, "I was sad because I had no shoes until I saw a man with no feet." We should never think we are better than others - we are just different parts of the body, like the eye and the ear don't think they are better than who left big toe. So, if you help someone else to improve the world, don't compare your life to theirs. Instead, consider how you are just making the world better for Christ's sake, not for your own glory.

     This works the other way, too, though. Many in poverty wish they had more money, but even those in nice homes wish they had more. Instead of focusing on worldly things, focus on the talents and abilities you have and how special you are to God; and that they are, too.

     Each of us will always be better at some things than other people and worse at some things, and will always be better off in some ways and worse off in some ways. If that test is driving you crazy, and you did your best to study, just do your best and remember that even if you don't do well on this subject, God still loves you and has a special purpose for your life. And, He will be your strength to overcome something negative when you trust Him to be. Including helping you to understand a subject.

     For instance, God put my grandmother into my moms friends life to help her learn chemistry so she would pass, and she said she learned more from my grandmother then she ever did from her teacher. And, my grandmother was not even a college graduate.

6. Remember, God can work miracles. Don't put God in a box, as they say, but believe He can do  anything. If something is of God, though, it must line up with Scripture and not violate physics. he won't let you suddenly take flight. :-) He might provide a miraculous healing, but that usually only happens in furtherance of the Gospel. Remember, we must pray according to His will.

     A lot of times, people who discuss signs and wonders are only doing so to glorify themselves. There are also false signs; this blog post about not letting the devil counterfeit things talks about this

7. Admit weaknesses and let God help you overcome them. As noted, none of us is perfect. We all have things we need help with. We must be honest with ourselves and with others when we struggle with things. However, we should also be willing to learn so we can improve on things. Of course, there will always be things we can't do. I will never be a top flight athlete, or even an athlete period. But, that's okay. God made me a certain way to do certain things. And, the nice thing is, if I really wanted to I could write about an athlete and through my story I could live such a life.

     One thing along these lines, though. We're each different, so there might be some things other Christians can handle that you can't, and vice versa. I'm not talking about sins - there is never a reason to get drunk or curse a blue streak or cheat or other sins. However, some people are more influenced by violent entertainment than others, as one example.  Those people need to avoid that. And, if they hve friends who are going to be drawn away from God by it, they need to help their friends and not tempt them, just as 1 corinthians 8 says. (In other words, keeping in midn others matter.)

     We all have different strengths and weaknesses, just like every part of the body has different thigns they ae good at. Some can perform numerous roles - I've seen people with no arms do amazing things with their legs and feet.

8. Share Christ in actions, not just words. Sometimes, bullies need to see we're real and then - if not now - later they will come to realize the truth of Jesus and let Him make them new inside.

     That's the beauty of Jesus - He makes us new inside when we turn from our sins and trust Him to work in us. But, we still have that old flesh nature, so it's a struggle. However, it's one we must fight by loving others, being positive, etc. - or, rather, let God fight for us.

      But, how is God going to fight for us if we're fighting Him? He's got to work in us first to make us more Christlike. People need to see there's a real difference. that means no vulgar stuff, treating others withr espect, not turning the opposite sex into objects but treating them as people. Not being selfish but instead being selfless. (We'll get intot hose relationships int he last part.)

     When you live for the Lord, some might still complain about hypocrites. Who knows, maybe you have problems with them, too. But, think of this. If I say I'm the King of Belgium, I'm lying. But, if I say that and go around doing... whatever, that has no relation to what the real King of Belgium is like.

     Or, what's your favorite pet? Either one you have or wish you had.? Now, say you hang around a bunch of people who claim to have that type of pet. Yet they show you pictures and it's just them, they walk imaginary animals, you know they're just playing "I got a pet." Is taht going to make you love your pet any less? Of course not, what they're doing should have no impact on you. It's part of what was said about not comparing yourself to others. Just let your own light shine.

9. Put your relationship with God before any other, especially dating. This may sound the same as one of the, but it focuses on love interests. And, younger kids may giggle, but if you are younger please read, becasue you'll be here someday if the Lord tarries His coming.

     In short, you should be so lost in your love for God that a person needs to seek God with all their heart to find you. Why? Because, God's is so deep - deeper even than the best family or friends - that nothing can destroy it. And, relationships will end, even if it's in death after 70 years of marriage.

     Marriage is the goal  God has for couples – one that lasts forever. That’s why he says don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers; or with people who act like it by drinking, cursing, violence, etc.. God desires, a very deep relationship and wants that for you, too. It matches His love for you, after all. God's love is perfect - agape is the Greek word. It means unconditional. Too many times, we think lust is love, but it isn't. it's only physical, and the Bible never translates the Greek word eros to mean love. It does translate phileo, a deep friendship, as "love. There is also storge(unconditional family love). But, those two have something in common with agape love that isn't there with physical lust - it is very deep.

     So, look at your crush and ask, "Will I love this person when they are old, wrinkled up like prunes, with no hair and teeth falling out, and possibly unable to walk or other handicaps? Will this person love me then? If the answer is "no to either, they're not for you and you shouldn't date them.

     Because, part of God's special plan for you is for you to have a partner who loves you and who you can love no matter what. Not settling for less.

     He showed that love for you before you ever knew Him.

     This, then, is where you can learn how to know that God of unconditional love.

To Know God

As noted, God wants to have a personal relationship with you. But, remember that sin I mentioned? It separates us from God.

When God made the world it had no sin in it. Sin is anything we say, think, or do that displeases God and therefore causes suffering. It might only cause suffering for the person who is doing it, or it can cause suffering for others, too. Like lying, cheating, being selfish, false pride(thinking you are better than others/not crediting God with things), etc.

So, if there was no sin, why is there now? Because people chose to sin. By one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, so that death passed unto all men, for that all have sinned.(Rom. 5:12) Including me. including you. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.(Rom.3:23)

So, God made a way for us to get to His perfect Heaven, because we can't get to His perfect heaven by our own works. And, that same way is what we need to have that relationship with Him right here on Earth. Jesus said "I am come that they might have life and life more abundantly."(John 10:10)

God wants us to be in His perfect Heaven. There will be no pain, no suffering, no tears, no body can do mean stuff there because all there will have been made new (2 Cor.5:17) - including those too young to understand the need to be saved from their sin.

If we can't get to Heaven on our own, how do we get there? It's a free gift - "The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."(Rom.6:23)

 It just has to be accepted by faith - just like you don't earn a birthday gift but get it because someone loves you - but you don't really have it to use till you open it.

Jesus was God in flesh. He is the “light of the world.” He came to this world to live a perfect life. He never sinned because He couldn't; He was God, so He always did what was right. Then, because he was also man - in the flesh - he died for our sins. Because he is God, He rose from the dead. There can’t be any bad people, or even bad stuff, in Heaven. There can be no sin there.

And, Jesus wants you to be there someday, where there is no suffering, no pain, etc., by receiving what he did for you by simple faith. He’ll come live in you then, through the Holy Spirit, which is one of the 3 ways God makes Himself known – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit – it’s like H2O is water vapor, water, and ice – it’s all the same chemical compound. Or, you can look at a person - a man can be a father, brother, and husband at the same time.

That’s how you can have that relationship with Him. He wants you to know Him, so you can have peace that passes all understanding,, great comfort, Godly wisdom whenever you ask, and so on. We just need to be humble enough to admit we need Him. There’s spiritual warfare out there. That means a lot of prayer is needed at times.

It's as easy as ABC - Admit you're a sinner and can't reach His perfect Heaven on your own, Believe Jesus Christ was god in flesh and He died to take the punishment for your sins and rose from the dead; and, Call on Jesus to save you from your sins and Choose to trust Him completely to save you and get you to Heaven, and to come into your heart and make you new inside.

The precise words aren't what save you, Jesus saves you when you trust in Him, so pray that above in your own words.

You can pray something like this: "Lord Jesus, I know I'm a sinner. I can't reach your perfect Heaven myself. But, I know you died to take the punishment for my sins and rose from the dead. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save me from my sins and forgive me. I trust you with all my heart to save me, and I believe you have forgiven me not by anything I have done, but only by simple faith in what you have done for me. Make me new inside, Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Once He saves you, he writes you in His book of ife and nobody can remove you from His hands.(John 10:28-30) Nothing can separate you from His love(Rom. 8:36-39), and He is able to keep you from falling.(June 24) He seals you with His Holy Spirit of promise.(Eph. 1:13,14; John 14-16)

Although, as I think I've mentioned elsewhere, it's best to use the King James Version of the Bible, as it has the translation from the original Antiochan texts.(Textus Receptus) This post has a little more on that and other great stuff about how we need to be known for what we're for, not just what we're against.
